Bio

Laj Bee, born Alieu A. Barrie on February 14, 1998, in Lofa County, Liberia, is an emerging Afrobeat artist known for his distinct sound, cultural influence, and storytelling ability. A proud Liberian creative, he relocated to Monrovia with his parents in search of greater opportunity and went on to spend his teenage and adult years within the capital—where his talent, voice, and musical identity began to take shape.

In 2023, Laj Bee reached a major milestone in his career when he signed a lucrative deal with Meritt Records, becoming the label’s third official signing since its expansion into Liberia in 2020. His signing represents a new wave of young talent rising from within the country, and his name continues to attract the attention of both fans and industry figures.

Laj Bee’s journey to discovery gained momentum with the release of a promotional video for his single "Lock Down," produced and directed by Kenzo

Studios. The visual caught the attention of award-winning artist and label executive F.E.J, who immediately recognized his potential—ultimately leading to

Laj Bee joining the Meritt Records roster.

Now developing his highly anticipated debut studio album, scheduled for release in late 2025, Laj Bee stands at the beginning of what promises to be a defining era. As he prepares to launch his first full project, excitement continues to grow across social media and within the Liberian music landscape. Fans are eager, hopeful, and ready to witness the rise of a new voice in Afrobeat.

With raw talent, vibrant energy, and a label behind him, Laj Bee is positioned to become one of Liberia’s most celebrated new artists—and his story is only just beginning.
